Portfolio

Every project listed below is a creation that I made during my time as a shop assistant at Peters Valley, or through my studies at the University of the Arts and North Street Bennett School. Email for purchase details.

Contrivance

Standing sculpture. Contrtivance is entirely about embracing what the material wants to do. This particular board of cherry has a massive twist in it. In a furniture context something like this would just become fire wood, but it was too much of a unique pice to go to waste.

Tiny Potatoes

A storage unit made from cherry, poplar, and flaming birch. The inside of the drawers are entirely textured, one with a flower pattern, the other with a simple random texture. Tiny potatoes served as an exploration of “hidden gems” in furniture.

Insatiable

My version of a ball and claw foot, something that seemed so daunting my entire career as a woodworker that I became afraid of it. This piece speaks to what I enjoy about woodworking, taking inspiration from the history of the craft and creating something new that inspired me to continue making.

Shaker Chair

Traditional ladderback char design. Material split from red oak logs. This chair was made without any use of electric tools.

Nightstand

Nightstand made during my semester at North Bennett Street School. Made from cherry, poplar, and milk paint.

Lamp

Made from Dyed ash and a walnut lamp shade. This piece was meant to be a production item but was more satisfying as a single product.

Entity

A tilt top table made from walnut and milk paint. Process and trial and error were the designers for this piece. This piece was a break from my usual method of creating a detailed plan before starting. Entity was formed in the process of making it.

Ash Coffee Table

A remake of the Shaker cherry coffee table but this time using no power tools in the process. Made from ash.
